C.B. Huss Complex


C.B. HUSS RECREATION COMPLEX: Complex was named after Mr. Jack Huss, a longtime resident, teacher, coach and administrator here in Cramerton.  The complex consists of a community center, senior center, swimming pool and wading pool, athletic fields, ½ mile paved trail, sand volleyball courts, playground, gymnasium, cardio/fitness center, and game-room and also house the parks and recreation administrative offices.    Complex is open M-Th. 8am-8pm and Wednesdays and Fridays from 8am-5pm

COMMUNITY CENTER: Currently the department utilizes the community center for youth dance classes, dance out/Zumba, and boot camps. The community center has a full kitchen with fridge, microwave, stove   Tables and chairs are provided for up to 60 adults.  Floors are hardwood and many use this space for kid’s birthday parties, dances, or banquets.  Pictures are provided under the tab community center

SENIOR CENTER: a multi-purpose room consisting of a full kitchen with microwave, stove, refrigerator and coffee maker. This building is used for our senior program that meet the 4th Tuesday of each month for lunch and a program.  The building is also rented out for classes; baby showers and family get together.  Floors are carpeted and tables and chairs are set up to accommodate 60-70.

Swimming pool facility: the swimming pool was renovated in 1997 and the wading pool was constructed in 2003.  Our pools open in late May and close end of August. The large pool depth goes from 3-10’ and the wading pool is a zero entrance to 2’.   Lounge chairs are not provided.  Operating hours are:

6:30-8am:            private swim rental

9am-11am           reserved swimming daycares and large groups

12pm-6pm          Open to General Public

6:30-7:15pm      Swim lessons

7:15:-9pm            Swim team practice

If swim lessons are not in session then pool will remain open until 7pm. Pool closes at 5pm on Fridays

Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30-8:30 and Sundays for a three hour block after 1pm can be rented for pool parties. Cost for pool parties can be found on the fee page.

Swim lessons are basic swim classes. We offer no advanced swim lessons.  Classes are scheduled throughout the summer months. Swim sessions consist of 8 classes for 45 minutes each.  Classes are scheduled for Monday-Thursday for two weeks.  Class size is a max of 12.  Swim lesson registration will begin the third week of May.

Swimming pool also offers a concession stand with drinks, snacks, ice cream and slushies’’.

Fitness/cardio room:      The fitness center is located in the basement of the gymnasium and consists of free weights, machine weights and dumb bells.  A full line of quality weight machines for every body part is available.  Our cardio room is located upstairs across from the game-room and consists of 3 treadmills, 2 ellipticals and 2 bikes.  We offer resident, non- resident and senior  monthly memberships


Our gym and game-room is available to all Cramerton residents. A one -time membership is required to use the gym/game-room. This ID will be required to enter the gym/game-room and be used to check-out equipment.  Non-residents under the age of 16 must buy a membership that is good for one year.

If you play in one our athletic leagues and you are an out of town resident then you only pay the one time membership fee. If you are a non-resident and over the age of 16 you must purchase a membership card and the fee is charged per entry.

Basketball Gym/Weight Room/Cardio Room/Game Room is open Monday, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 8am-8pm, Fridays from 8am-5pm, and Saturdays from 10am-3pm. Hours are extended for weight room/cardio room during the winter months of December-February.

Game-room has 2 pool tables, 1 ping pong tables and 2 foosball tables



We have two multi- purpose fields and two sand volleyball courts and ½ mile 6’ paved trail around the facility. The two fields are used for baseball ages 4-12, soccer ages 3-12, and church co- ed and men’s softball leagues.  There is also a 20×40 picnic shelter available to rent for parties.  A playground is located up top beside the gymnasium.  Additional parking for complex athletic fields can be found at the end of 1oth and 11th streets.  Fields can be rented for tournament play on the weekends.
